The Thorpeness is a small pendant light with a glass shade shaped like an open rose: layers of wavy, ruffled glass petals around the bulb, hung from a brass finish lamp holder on a twisted gold fabric cord. Choose clear glass, which sparkles when lit, or frosted glass, which glows softly and evenly.
The shade is 15 cm wide and 16 cm tall, so it suits bedsides, dressing tables, small landings and cloakrooms, or a group of two or three over a side table. The cord is 150 cm long and can be shortened when it is fitted, so it hangs at the height you want.
It takes one E14 bulb, and a warm white E14 LED bulb is included. It is a hardwired fitting for a ceiling light point on standard UK mains.

A pair by the bed
Hung low either side of the bed, the clear petals sparkle and leave the bedside tables free for books and flowers.
Soft light for dressing
In frosted glass the rose glows softly and evenly, a flattering light over a dressing table or a mirror.
Petals of ruffled glass
Layer upon layer of wavy glass petals catch the light of the bulb and scatter it in small sparkles.

Chosen for the finish
We choose each design for how its surface handles light: natural travertine, brushed brass, aged bronze or ribbed glass. The finish is part of the design, not an afterthought.
Built for real rooms
We design for homes that get lived in, not showrooms that get photographed. Warm, unobtrusive light. A scale that suits an ordinary ceiling. Finishes that age rather than wear out.
