The Shotley ceiling light holds a flared clear glass cone close to the ceiling, on a short stem and a knurled lamp holder with a little turn knob, in the style of an old workshop light. Clear glass shows off the bulb, so a filament bulb glows inside it and throws a bright, sparkling light down onto a worktop, a hallway floor or a landing.
At about 21.5 cm from the ceiling to the rim of the glass, it suits low and standard UK ceilings where a pendant would hang too low. Antique brass warms up period hallways and country kitchens; black gives a crisper, more industrial look against white walls. Two or three in a row look good over a kitchen worktop or along a corridor.
The cone is 18.7 cm across at the rim, on a round 12 cm ceiling plate. It takes one E27 bulb, not included; a warm white LED filament bulb suits the clear glass best. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains, to be installed by a qualified electrician.

Will it suit a low ceiling?
Yes. It is about 21.5 cm from the ceiling to the rim of the glass, so it sits much closer to the ceiling than a pendant and suits most UK ceiling heights.
Which bulb should I use?
It takes one E27 bulb, not included. The glass is clear, so the bulb is on show: a warm white LED filament bulb of around 2700K looks best and keeps the glare soft.
Antique brass or black?
Antique brass suits period hallways and country kitchens with warm wood and brass taps. Black looks crisper against white walls and black door furniture. Both have the same clear glass cone.
