The Hollis is a pair of wall lights in a brushed brass finish with tall tapered linen shades, made to run on a rechargeable battery. There is no wiring and no electrician: fix the round wall plate with two screws, click in the light and it is ready.

Each light has its own 4000 mAh rechargeable LED bulb that lifts out to charge by USB, and its own remote for dimming and switching between warm and cooler white. The shades give a soft, low light that suits bedsides, a reading chair or either side of a mirror. The bulbs also offer colour modes if you ever want them.

Hung as a pair either side of a bed or a sofa, they give the look of hardwired wall lights in rooms where there is no wall light point, which makes them ideal for renters and period homes where chasing in cables is not an option.

  • Bedside: centre the shade 60 to 75 cm above the mattress, 10 to 20 cm in from the edge of the bed
  • Beside a sofa or reading chair: around 140 to 160 cm from the floor
  • Either side of a mirror: around 150 to 170 cm from the floor
  • Size: 30 cm high, 15 cm shade, 22 cm from the wall
