The Glemsford is a pendant light with a wide, shallow coolie shade of fluted glass: 22 cm across, with fine flutes that run out from the brass holder to a crimped, pie crust edge. The shade sits above the bulb like a small hat, so the bulb hangs just below it and the light falls wide and open. When it is lit the flutes glow olive green or honey amber.
It measures about 12 cm from the top of the brass lamp holder to the rim of the shade, and the holder has its own turn switch. The twisted gold coloured cord can be set to any length up to 150 cm. Because the bulb shows, a decorative globe or filament bulb finishes it well. Hang two or three over a kitchen island or a dining table, or one in a hallway or over a reading chair.
It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included; a warm white filament or LED bulb of around 2200 to 2700K suits the glass best. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains with a 10 cm round ceiling rose, to be installed by a qualified electrician.
