The Yaxley is a plug in wall light with the charm of a pendant. A slim brass coloured arm reaches out from a round wall plate, and from it an amber hammered glass shade hangs on a twisted braided cord that adjusts up to 70 cm. A 1.8 m braided cable runs from the wall plate to a UK plug with a button switch, so it needs no electrician: fix the plate with two screws, plug it in and it is ready.
The glass is rippled like old window glass and glows a deep honey amber when lit. Choose a lily shade with a wavy petal rim, 20 cm across, a small flared tulip, 15.5 cm, or a square shade, 14 cm wide. Hang a pair either side of a bed, one beside a reading chair or a row above a desk or shelf, and set each drop by adjusting the cord. The lamp holder has its own turn knob as well.
The arm reaches about 16 cm from the wall on a round 12 cm wall plate, and the arm, plate and lamp holder are copper in a warm brass colour. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W, not included; a small warm white LED filament bulb shows off the amber glass. It is the amber glass sister of the Framsden hanging wall light.

Do I need an electrician?
No. The Yaxley plugs into a standard UK socket with its 1.8 m cable. Fix the wall plate with two screws, plug it in and switch it on with the button on the cable.
How low does the shade hang?
The braided cord adjusts up to 70 cm below the arm, so you can set the shade at reading height beside a bed or chair, or keep it short above a desk or shelf.
Is a bulb included?
No. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W. A small warm white LED filament bulb of around 2700K looks best in the amber glass and keeps the shade cool.
