The Welwyn is a mid century pendant with a wide, shallow glass disc and a rounded cap that sits on top like a button. It comes in olive glass with a burgundy cap, green glass with a cream cap, or orange glass with a burgundy cap, three colour pairings in the spirit of 1930s modernism that bring a note of colour to a pale room.

The disc is 25 cm across and only a few centimetres deep, so it gives a broad, low glow over a table without blocking the view across the room. A frosted globe bulb sits just below the glossy glass. Hang a pair over a dining table, a row over a kitchen island, or one low beside the bed.

It stands about 20 cm tall overall, on a black cord of at least 120 cm that can be shortened at fitting, with a 10 cm round ceiling rose. It takes one E27 bulb, and a warm white bulb comes with it. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains.

Is a bulb included?

Yes, a warm white E27 bulb comes with it. Buyers say it is bright, so for a softer evening glow swap it for a frosted globe bulb of around 2200 to 2700K.
How high should it hang over a table?

Hang the bottom of the bulb about 75 cm above the table top. Over a dining table of about 140 to 180 cm, a pair spaced about 70 cm apart works well; over an island, two or three in a row.
Does it suit a low ceiling?

Yes. The cord can be shortened at fitting so the disc sits closer to the ceiling. Where people walk under it, keep at least 210 cm of clear headroom.
