The Wangford semi flush is a white ceramic half dome, 20 cm across and about 13 cm tall, worked all over in an open basket weave of small squares with star shaped cut outs and a beaded edge at the rim. It sits close to the ceiling on a short brass fitting, so it suits hallways, landings, loft rooms and anywhere a hanging pendant would be in the way.
When it is lit, light shines out through every opening and throws a soft lattice pattern across the ceiling and the top of the walls, while the open base lights the room below. The ceramic has a glossy white glaze and is made by hand, so the lattice can vary very slightly from one shade to the next. It completes the Wangford family with our Wangford pendant and wall light.
It fixes to the ceiling with a round 10 cm brass ceiling plate and takes one E27 bulb, not included; a warm white LED bulb of around 2700K suits it best and stays cool inside the ceramic. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains, to be installed by a qualified electrician.

A lattice of light
On a low hallway ceiling, light shines through every opening and spreads a soft lattice pattern overhead.
Cosy in the loft
Under a sloping ceiling, the ceramic dome gives a warm, gentle light where a pendant would be in the way.
Made by hand in ceramic
Small squares and star shaped cut outs run over the glazed dome, finished with a beaded rim.

Chosen for the finish
We choose each design for how its surface handles light: natural travertine, brushed brass, aged bronze or ribbed glass. The finish is part of the design, not an afterthought.
Built for real rooms
We design for homes that get lived in, not showrooms that get photographed. Warm, unobtrusive light. A scale that suits an ordinary ceiling. Finishes that age rather than wear out.
Frequently asked questions
Will it suit a low ceiling?
Yes. It is a semi flush fitting: the shade is about 13 cm tall and sits close to the ceiling on a short brass fitting, so it suits hallways, landings and loft rooms.
Does it match the Wangford pendant and wall light?
Yes. It has the same white basket weave ceramic look as our Wangford pendant and Wangford wall light, so all three work well together. The ceiling shade is 20 cm wide, the pendant 19.5 cm and the wall light 16 cm.
Which bulb should I use?
It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included. A warm white LED bulb of around 2700K suits the white ceramic and stays cool. Choose a dimmable bulb if it will be on a dimmer switch.
