The Thaxted is a small mid century pendant: a straight sided drum of glossy olive glass with a domed wine red cap sitting on top like a lid. The two colours have the warmth of a 1960s kitchen, and the olive glass turns a deeper, richer green once the light is on.

The drum is 15 cm wide and 10 cm deep and open underneath, so light falls down onto a worktop, table or bedside while the glass glows softly around it. It is a small pendant, so it looks best in a pair over a table, a row of three over an island, or hung low beside a bed.

It stands about 16 cm tall overall and hangs from a black cord of up to 190 cm that can be shortened at fitting. It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, and it is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains.

It is a small pendant. The glass drum is 15 cm wide and 10 cm deep, about 16 cm tall overall. A few buyers found it smaller than they expected, so it looks best in a pair over a table, a row of three over an island, or alone beside a bed.
Is a bulb included?

No, plan on one E27 bulb. A warm white LED bulb of around 2700K suits the olive glass, and a dimmable bulb lets you lower the light in the evening if you have a compatible dimmer switch.
How high should it hang?

Over a table or island, hang the bottom of the drum about 75 cm above the surface. Beside a bed, about 50 to 60 cm above the bedside table. Where people walk under it, keep at least 210 cm of clear headroom.
