The Redgrave is a wall light that needs no electrician. A shade of amber hammered glass hangs from a slim brass coloured arm, and a 1.8 m braided cable runs from the wall plate to a UK plug, with a button switch on the cable. Fix the plate to the wall with two screws, plug it in and it is ready, so it suits rented homes, bedrooms without wall light points and reading corners far from a switch.
The glass is rippled like old window glass and glows a deep honey amber when lit, throwing warm, dappled light across the wall. Choose a wide drum shade, 17 cm across, or a tall square shade, 14 cm wide. The lamp holder has its own turn knob, and the arm tilts and turns at its joint, so you can aim the light over a bed, a chair or a desk.
The arm reaches about 16 cm from the wall on a round 12 cm wall plate. The arm, plate and lamp holder are copper in a warm brass colour. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W, not included; a small warm white LED filament bulb shows off the amber glass.

Do I need an electrician?
No. The Redgrave plugs into a standard UK socket with its 1.8 m cable. Fix the wall plate with two screws, plug it in and switch it on with the button on the cable.
Can I hide the cable?
The braided cable is made to be seen, but you can run it neatly down the wall with small cable clips, or cover it with a paintable cable cover.
Is a bulb included?
No. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W. A small warm white LED filament bulb of around 2700K looks best in the amber glass and keeps the shade cool.
