The Purbeck is a small block of natural travertine with a built in LED that shines both up and down, drawing narrow fans of warm light across the wall above and below it. Switched off it is a simple piece of pitted cream stone; switched on, it turns a plain wall into a feature.
It is 22 cm wide, 8 cm high and 5 cm deep. The maker rates it IP65, which means it is sealed against dust and jets of water, so it can go beside a front door, along a garden wall, or in a bathroom as well as in a hallway or on a landing. Your electrician will confirm the right position in a bathroom.
Because it is real stone, the colour, pits and veining vary from piece to piece. Outdoors, travertine weathers naturally over time, and a stone sealer helps keep it looking fresh. The 12 W LED is built in, in a warm 3000K white, and it is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains. It is not dimmable.
