The Peasenhall is a semi flush ceiling light with a wide, shallow cone of green glass, pleated all the way round like a frilled skirt. It sits on a short brass finish rod and knurled lamp holder under a round brass canopy, with the bulb hanging in view just below the shade, so the green glass glows from above while the bulb lights the room from beneath.

The shade is 22 cm across and the whole light, bulb included, reaches about 20 cm from the ceiling. The green glass gives a warm, slightly tinted light that suits a cottage kitchen, a breakfast corner or a hallway with original tiles, and the pleats throw a soft, rayed pattern on the ceiling.

It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, and it is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains.

Peasenhall green pleated glass ceiling light above a breakfast table in a kitchen

Over the breakfast table

Above a small kitchen table the green cone glows from above while the bare bulb lights the table, which is exactly what you want at breakfast.

Colour for a tiled hall

In a Victorian hallway the green glass picks up the colours in the floor tiles and the pleats throw a soft rayed pattern on the ceiling.

Pleats like a frilled skirt

The glass is pressed into dozens of pleats that run from the brass holder to a frilled edge, so the colour deepens and lightens around the shade.

Chosen for the finish

We choose each design for how its surface handles light: natural travertine, brushed brass, aged bronze or ribbed glass. The finish is part of the design, not an afterthought.

Built for real rooms

We design for homes that get lived in, not showrooms that get photographed. Warm, unobtrusive light. A scale that suits an ordinary ceiling. Finishes that age rather than wear out.

Frequently asked questions

Which bulb should I use?

Plan on one E27 bulb, not included. The bulb hangs in view below the shade, so choose a decorative filament bulb of around 2700K such as a large globe or a teardrop; it becomes part of the look and avoids glare.

How far does it hang down?

About 20 cm from the ceiling to the bottom of a standard bulb, so it suits ceilings of about 2.3 m and up. It is hardwired and should be fitted by a qualified electrician in place of your existing ceiling fitting.

Is the green glass very dark?

No. It is a soft green, pale enough to glow brightly when lit, with the colour deepest along the pleats. Most of the light comes from the bulb below the shade, so the room is lit normally and the shade adds a warm tint above.
