The Laxfield wall light has a wide, shallow shade of coloured glass, ribbed from the centre out and finished with a scalloped edge like the petals of a flower. The shade opens downwards from a brass finish lamp holder at the end of a curved swan neck arm, on a round brass wall plate, so the bulb is hidden inside and the glass glows from above.
Choose soft green glass for a cottage look or amber glass for a warm, honeyed light in the evening. The shade is 20 cm across and reaches about 20 cm out from the wall on the arm, which suits a pair either side of a bed, a single light beside a sofa or a pair flanking a picture or a mirror.
It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, and it is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains.

Does it need a wall light point?
Yes. It is hardwired, so it connects to a wall light point and should be fitted by a qualified electrician. There is no plug. Once fitted, it switches from your wall switch.
Is a bulb included?
No, plan on one E27 bulb. Because the bulb sits inside the shade and out of view, a plain warm white LED of around 2700K is all it needs; a dimmable bulb and a dimmer switch make it a lovely evening light.
How big is it?
