The Lavenham is a small bell shaped pendant in pressed cut glass, in a deep green or a soft amber. A fine diamond pattern covers the top of the shade, a fan of deep cuts runs down the front, and the hem finishes in a scalloped edge, in the spirit of the cut glass shades found in Victorian and Edwardian homes.
Cut glass breaks the light into a gentle sparkle when the lamp is on, and keeps its colour in daylight when it is off. The shade hangs from a brass lamp holder with a small turn knob switch, on a twisted cord in a warm gold colour. Hang one beside a bed, a pair along a landing, or a row of three over a kitchen island.
The shade is 15 cm wide and 19 cm tall, so this is a small pendant that looks its best in pairs or rows. The cord is 150 cm long and can be shortened at fitting, and the round ceiling rose is 10 cm across. It takes one E27 bulb, not included, and is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains.
