The Hacheston is a tall, tapered cone of amber cut glass, 12 cm wide at the base and 19 cm tall, cut all over with a deep faceted block pattern. It is open at the bottom, so the light falls straight down, while the cut glass catches the bulb and sparkles a warm amber all the way up the shade.
Its slim shape takes up very little room, so it suits a bedside, a narrow hallway or a row over a breakfast bar where a wider shade would crowd the space. It hangs from a solid brass lamp holder with its own turn switch, on a twisted gold coloured cord that can be set to any length up to 150 cm, with a 10 cm round ceiling rose.
Hang three in a row over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, a pair either side of a bed, or one at the end of a hallway. It takes one E27 bulb, not included; a clear warm white filament bulb makes the cut glass sparkle most. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains, to be installed by a qualified electrician.

How many do I need over an island?
For an island or breakfast bar of about 1.5 to 2 m, three hung about 50 to 60 cm apart work well, with the bottom of each shade around 75 to 85 cm above the worktop.
Which bulb should I use?
It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included. A clear warm white filament or LED bulb of around 2200 to 2700K makes the cut glass sparkle. Choose a dimmable bulb if it will be on a dimmer switch.
