The Bawdsey is a flush ceiling light in a mid century style: a thick disc of coloured glass, 24 cm across and 5 cm deep, held close to the ceiling on a brass finish canopy, with a round white globe bulb sitting just below it. The glass glows with colour when the light is on and still reads as a clean, simple shape when it is off.
Because it sits tight to the ceiling it suits hallways, landings, bedrooms and kitchens with low ceilings, and it pairs well with our Welwyn and Thaxted pendants, which share the same coloured glass and globe bulb look. Choose honey for a warm glow, green for a richer period colour, opal for a soft white light, or blush for a gentle warm pink.
It comes with a warm white globe LED bulb and is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains, to be installed by a qualified electrician in place of an existing ceiling light.

Will it suit a low ceiling?
Yes. It is a flush fitting, so the glass disc sits close to the ceiling with the globe bulb just below it. It works on low ceilings, landings and hallways where a pendant would be in the way.
Is a bulb included?
Yes, it comes with a warm white globe LED bulb, which is part of the look. If it ever needs replacing, choose a globe LED bulb of the same size.
What does the glass look like when the light is off?
The honey, opal and blush glass is frosted, so it reads as a soft, solid colour; the green is clearer and shows a little more of the bulb and canopy.
