The Mendham is a semi flush ceiling light with a wide, softly rounded shade of amber tinted glass, 28 cm across and shaped like a smooth pebble. The glass is clear enough to show the bulb inside, and its base curves up into an open centre where the tip of the bulb shows, so light falls straight down into the room while the whole shade glows a warm honey colour.
It sits close to the ceiling on a short stem and a round 12 cm ceiling plate in a brushed brass finish, 15 cm tall in all, so it suits hallways, landings, loft rooms and cottage kitchens with low or beamed ceilings. A filament style bulb shows off the clear amber glass; a frosted bulb gives a softer glow.
It takes one E27 bulb, not included; a warm white LED bulb of around 2200 to 2700K suits the amber tint. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains, to be installed by a qualified electrician.
