The Kedington is a French style wall light: an oval backplate edged with fine beading and crowned top and bottom with a carved shell crest, a curved arm that dips down and rises to a glazed celadon green ceramic cup, a slim candle sleeve and a tapered white fabric shade. Lit, the shade glows warm and soft, and the pale green glaze catches the light just below it.
It stands 35 cm tall, with a shade 15 cm across at the base and 11 cm across the top, so it suits a bedside, a landing or a pair either side of a mirror or fireplace without crowding the wall. The backplate and arm are finished in warm brass, which sits beautifully against painted panelling and sage, cream or soft white walls.
It takes one E14 bulb (not included); a warm white LED of about 4 W gives the best glow through the fabric. It is a hardwired fitting for a standard UK wall light point, switched from your wall switch, and should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
