The Playford is a swing arm wall light in the classic English bedroom style: an antique brass arm in two folding sections, a knurled brass lamp holder with a small finial, and a wide, tapered cream shade. Swing the arm out to bring the light over a pillow or an armchair to read by, then fold it back towards the wall when you are done.
The shade is 26 cm across and 16 cm tall, much larger than a small bedside light, so it throws a generous, warm pool of light. Choose the Pleated shade, in finely pleated cream fabric, or the Plain shade in smooth cream parchment. The arm reaches between 20 and 30 cm from the wall, the light is 30 cm tall and the round wall plate 12 cm.
It takes one E27 bulb, not included; a warm white LED of around 2700K suits the cream fabric. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains and dry indoor rooms, to be installed by a qualified electrician, and it turns on from your existing wall switch.

How far does the arm reach?
The two section arm folds from about 20 cm to 30 cm out from the wall, and swings from side to side, so you can bring the light over a pillow or a chair and fold it back when you are done.
What is the difference between the Pleated and Plain shades?
Both are the same size and shape, 26 cm across and 16 cm tall, in cream. The Pleated shade is finely pleated fabric with a soft, textured glow; the Plain shade is smooth cream parchment for a simpler look.
What bulb does it take?
One E27 bulb, not included. A warm white LED bulb of around 2700K suits the cream shade and keeps it cool; a 6 to 10 W LED gives plenty of light to read by.
