The Marlesford is a stained glass table lamp with the cheerfulest of the old designs: a dome of leaded glass with big orange sunflowers and green leaves wrapped around it. The 20 cm shade sits on a slender cast column and round base in a dark bronze finish, and when the bulb is on every petal glows orange and gold.
Choose Blue, with the sunflowers set against sky blue glass, or Cream, with the flowers on pale cream glass for a softer look. Each is 36 cm tall with a 10.5 cm base, and the glass is cut and soldered by hand, so no two are exactly alike.
It plugs in with a cable, a push button switch and a UK three pin plug, and takes one screw fit bulb, not included; a small warm white LED suits the coloured glass best. At 36 cm tall it makes a fine reading lamp for a bedside, a side table or a hall console, and a present that is easy to wrap.
