The Chediston is a small pendant in cream glazed ceramic, hand painted in a red brown that recalls old farmhouse china. Choose the Scalloped shade, a softly wavy drum 16.5 cm across painted with a garland of swags, bows and tassels, or the Lattice shade, a tapered drum 17 cm across with a raised diamond pattern and small painted bows.
It hangs from a brass finish lamp holder with its own turn switch, on a twisted brown fabric cord that can be set to any length up to 150 cm. The glaze glows softly when it is lit and the light falls in a warm pool from the open base, so it suits a bedside, a small table or a row over a kitchen island. Because each shade is painted by hand, the pattern varies a little from one to the next.
A warm white LED bulb with an E27 fitting is included. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains and dry indoor rooms, to be installed by a qualified electrician. The matching Chediston wall light and ceiling light carry the same two shades.
