The Charsfield is a swing arm wall light with a wide pleated shade: a cone of finely pleated cream fabric, 24 cm across, on a knurled brass finish lamp holder with a small finial, carried on a slim two section brass finish arm from a round 12 cm wall plate. Swing it out over a pillow or an armchair to read by, then fold it back towards the wall when the book is closed.
The arm turns at the wall plate and folds at the elbow, so the shade can sit close beside the plate or reach out to about 59 cm from the wall. Lit, the pleats glow evenly and throw a warm pool of light down onto the page, with a softer glow on the wall above. It is the pleated sister of our Hatton swing arm light, and a pair either side of a bed frees both bedside tables.
It takes one E27 bulb, and one is supplied. It is a hardwired fitting for standard UK mains and dry indoor rooms, to be installed by a qualified electrician, and it turns on from your existing wall switch.

How far does the arm reach?
The two section arm folds back beside the wall plate or swings out to about 59 cm from the wall, measured to the far edge of the shade, so you can bring the light over a pillow or a chair.
Is a bulb included?
Yes. It takes one E27 bulb and one is supplied. A warm white LED of around 2700K suits the cream pleated shade best.
How is it different from the Hatton?
Both are brass finish swing arm lights for bedsides and reading chairs. The Hatton has a tall tapered linen look shade on a concertina arm; the Charsfield has a wider, shallower pleated shade on a two section arm.
